Did you know that the dogs we know today most likely came from an extinct breed of wolves? The most likely group of wolves who became domesticated thousands of years ago were likely kicked out  of their own packs and relied on humans for easy access to food from leftovers and protection from larger predators. Humans most likely kept them around because they like that dogs warned against upcoming dangers via barking. Did you know that Russian street dogs know how to use the subway?! They have been known to ride a train and get off at specific stops. It’s likely that they use their extreme sense of smell to identify where they are.  Pep the dog was framed for murder and you can’t convince me otherwise. Feeding stray dogs can improve the lives of dogs significantly. However, it's really important to take precautions while feeding dogs for the safety of yourself, others, and the dogs. Feed in places away from humans Avoid feeding in places near restaurants, playgrounds, public gatherings, and cars. The dogs may become stressed eating in front of many people or they may harass other people for food in the future. It’s best to feed the dogs in a spacious place away from other humans. It is also important to feed them in the same exact spot each time. Space their food out  Feeding one dog will most likely lead to others showing up for a snack too. However dogs get territorial over food, especially when they are hungry. To prevent any potential dog fights it’s best to space the food in many different places. Research shows that dogs increase oxytocin levels in humans, which decreases stress and anxiety. Studies also show that dogs can relieve pain in humans by increasing endorphins. A study conducted by the Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing showed that people who had joint replacement surgery needed 28% less pain medication after therapy dog visits than those who had no contact. Now that you’re out there, he’s taking forever to find the perfect spot. No quite literally, forever. Well you’re dog isn’t just trying to find the perfect spot he’s also trying to align it with the earth's magnetic field.  Scientists in the Czech Republic and Germany examined over 7,000 potty breaks. They ruled out wind, sun, and any other element that could interfere with the dog’s decision. They found the only other factor would be the Earth’s magnetic field. When the magnetic field was stable, the dogs continuously pooped on the north-south axis and continuously avoided the east-west axis. So your dog isn’t just finding a random spot to drop a doody, it’s analyzing the earth’s magnetic field.
